Popular Afrobeats star Fido has publicly apologised following recent backlash over comments and actions that sparked criticism across social media. He recently had his say via a lengthy and reflective post shared on his official page, and fans have been reacting.

Taking full responsibility for his improper behaviour after his rapid rise to stardom, he blamed it on fame coming quickly while he was still figuring out who he was behind the spotlight.

The singer added that ego, excitement and inexperience influenced some of the decisions and statements he is deeply sorry for.

His words, “There’s no easy way to write this, so I’ll just say it plainly. I messed up.

Stardom came into my life quickly. One minute I was dreaming about it, the next minute I was living it.

There are moments in life when you either double down on pride or you humble yourself and grow. I chose to step back. I chose to listen. I chose to reflect.
