The Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Adijat Adeleye, has announced the disbursement of a N35 million cash grant to women across the state. She recently had her say during the special celebration of this year’s International Women’s Day held at the Ojude Oba Pavilion in Ijebu Ode.

According to her, Ogun State women are fully in support of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s aspiration to contest the Ogun East senatorial seat in 2027 after completing his second term in office.

Adijat added that Ogun women must remain united and support the re-election bid of Tinubu as well as the future political aspirations of Dapo Abiodun.

Her words, “The 2026 International Women’s Day theme, ‘Give to Gain,’ underscores the enduring truth that meaningful progress is born from sacrifice, service, and intentional investment in one another. It reminds us that when we give our time, resources, support, and opportunities, we create pathways for shared prosperity and lasting impact.

In our state, commendable strides have been made in expanding women’s participation in governance, improving access to economic opportunities, and strengthening policies that safeguard their rights and dignity. Even as we celebrate these achievements, the theme challenges us to give more of our commitment and collective effort so that we may secure even greater gains for women and society at large.

In continuation of Governor Abiodun’s unwavering support for women’s empowerment, N200,000 cash grants are being given to 50 women each, while another 500 beneficiaries will receive N50,000 each. We believe this will positively impact the livelihoods of our hardworking women.”

WOW.
