Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP), representing Kogi Central, resumed plenary at the National Assembly on Tuesday. After rounding off her 6-month suspension, Natasha officially resumed her seat in the senate on Tuesday at precisely 11:42 am.

The lawmaker confidently stepped into the Senate chambers, walked straight to her seat, and after sitting down, exchanged pleasantries with some of her colleagues.

Natasha was accompanied by several activists to the Senate, including Bring Back Our Girls campaigner Aisha Yesufu, who was sighted in the Senate gallery.

Her crowd of supporters were, however, denied entry into the Senate gallery.

The upper chamber had earlier shifted its resumption from September 23 to October 7, 2025, extending its annual recess by two weeks and halting deliberations on several key national priorities.

Her legal team also warned the Senate against any move to block her entry into the chamber, insisting that the Kogi Central lawmaker had already served out her punishment and is constitutionally entitled to resume legislative duties.

Senator Natasha was in March slammed with a six-month suspension by the Senate, which also barred her from participating in all activities of the 10th Senate over her alleged misconduct when she protested against the reassignment of her seat by Akpabio on February 20, 2025.
