Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has spoken candidly about his ongoing search for spiritual clarity, revealing that despite converting from Christianity to Islam, he still feels unfulfilled.

During a recent chat with streamer Playboymax, the City Boys crooner explained that his exploration of different faiths and religious teachings has only left him more uncertain about life’s deeper meaning.

“Growing up, I was a Christian and then I converted to Islam. It’s like I’ve studied it all, but I’m still out here trying to find out what is really going on, you know? The more I research, the more confused I get,” Burna Boy admitted.

He noted that his spiritual journey remains a work in progress as he continues to seek a deeper understanding of himself and his beliefs.

Burna Boy’s revelation mirrors the experience of fellow Nigerian musician 9ice, who earlier this year opened up about his own spiritual shift. The Gongo Aso hitmaker shared that after suffering a severe “spiritual attack” that left him bedridden for months, he turned to the Ifa religion and regretted not doing so sooner.

Speaking in an interview with Nancy Isime, 9ice expressed that his newfound faith had given him strength and clarity, underscoring how spirituality continues to shape the personal journeys of Nigerian entertainers.
