Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida, has shared how the singer felt when she accidentally sent fans into a frenzy over her health. Recall that Freida sparked concern for Dolly in October when she asked fans to pray for the singer amid some health setbacks.

According to her, Dolly realized that she didn’t know how quickly things can escalate online, so she understood that the public request was out of respect for their mother’s love for prayers.

She added that their mum taught them to pray, and she really needed more people to join to aid Parton’s recovery.

Her words, “I just said what I said because Mama told us to pray. And so I prayed, and I wanted people to pray for her because she wasn’t feeling good. It’s like, hey, I didn’t mean it to happen. I just asked for people to pray for [her] because that’s the way I was raised.

She probably thought, ‘Well, she didn’t know about the internet then. She had no idea,’ So I didn’t get in trouble with her or none of the family. But some people were very upset with me because I had said that.”
