Doyin Okupe Should Not Try To Change His Son’s Sexuality – Lawyer

A popular legal practitioner, Jake Okwchukwu Effoduh has come out to react to Doyin Okupe’s reaction to his son coming out as gay.

Recall the Doyin Okupe recently revealed that he is very opposed to his boy’s homosexuality while adding that the boy is suffering from a major spiritual challenge.

Reacting today, Jake simply wrote that Doyin Okupe should accept his son for who he is once and for all, and stop trying to change him.

He added that the politician should rather pray for his son to grow in confidence, wellness and self-acceptance henceforth.

His words, “Dear Doyin Okupe, no amount of prayer can change ur son’s sexual orientation. The same way no amount of prayer can change his race. Instead, pray for him to grow in confidence, wellness and self-acceptance. The world will hate and reject him, don’t join them. Accept your own son.”

Adedoyin Ajibike Okupe (born 22 March 1952), better known as Dr. Doyin Okupe, is a Nigerian physician and politician who co-founded Royal Cross Medical Centre and was the National Publicity Secretary of National Republican Convention (NRC).

He was once detained under General Sani Abacha, and subsequently disqualified from participating in United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) primaries; later on, he was a governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State.

Born on 22 March 1952 in Iperu in Ogun State of Nigeria, Okupe is the son of Chief Matthew Adekoya Okupe, who was a banker with Agbonmagbe Bank.

His brothers are Kunle Okupe, Owo Okupe, Wemi Okupe and Larry Okupe, and his sisters are Aina Okanlawon and Bisola Ayeni. He attended St. Jude’s School in Ebute Metta, Lagos, Igbobi College in Yaba, Lagos and the University of Ibadan in Ibadan, Oyo State.
