Evans Frustrates The Government Today In Court Over Fresh Charges Filed Against Him.

Evans was today arranged on fresh charges bordering on kidnapping, murder and illegal possession of firearms before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo.

Evans was specifically arraigned over allegations on murder, kidnap of Sylvanius Ahanonu Hafiia and attempted kidnap of the chairman of Young Shall Grow Motors, Chief Vincent Obianodo. ‎

The fresh charges are separate from the ones pressed against him before the Ikeja division of the court.

However, Evan’s lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, argued that his client could not be arraigned until his application challenging the charges and the court’s jurisdiction had been determined.

The lawyer alleged that the prosecuting team for the state served him with a reply to the application today, Monday, October 23, hence, he would need an adjournment to reply.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, the presiding justice subsequently adjourned the matter till Friday, October 27, 2017, Punch reports.
