FG Is About To Punish 400 Boko Haram Financiers – Malami

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami, SAN, has come out to say that the Federal Government is set to prosecute 400 suspected Boko Haram financiers.

The AGF recently revealed this while felicitating with Muslim faithfuls all over the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Fitr.

According to him, the government is currently taking more measures to counter the serious trouble of insurgency and insecurity in the country, and the citizens should expect results soon.

He added that FG also intends to resuscitate and reinvigorate the existing special terrorism prosecution courts to punish anyone found guilty.

His words, β€œMalami, therefore, urges Muslims as they celebrate Eid-fitr to continue to be law-abiding, have sober reflection and exhibit the imbibed lessons learnt during the period of Ramadan fast.”

β€œThe Minister salutes the commitment of clerics in enlightening their followers on various issues during the months, urging them to maintain the tempo even beyond the period of Ramadan.”

Abubakar Malami (born 17 April 1967), is a Nigerian politician, lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). He is Nigeria’s currently serving Minister for Justice and Attorney-General.

Abubakar Malami was born on 17 April 1967 in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State, Northern Nigeria. His early formal education began at Nassarawa Primary School, Birnin Kebbi before he completed his secondary school education at College of Arts and Arabic Studies.

In 1991, he graduated from Usmanu Danfodiyo University where he studied Law and was called to the bar in 1992. Abubakar is an alumnus of the University of Maiduguri where he obtained his master’s degree in Public Administration in 1994.

On 21 August 2019, he was re-appointed as the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation by President Muhammadu Buhari on 21 August 2019.
