FG Sets Up Committee To Address Gas To Power Challenge

The Federal Government has inaugurated a Gas-to-Power Monitoring Committee. The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, recently had his say at the inauguration in Abuja, and Nigerians have been reacting.

Revealing that the initiative is a decisive step towards resolving one of the most critical constraints in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI), he noted that the committee was set to tackle persistent gas supply challenges affecting electricity generation in the country.

He added that gas-fired power plants account for about 80 per cent of Nigeria’s electricity generation, but continue to face setbacks due to supply disruptions.
