Nigerian footballer, Kanu Nwankwo, and his wife, Amara are presently celebrating their wedding anniversary.

The couple have jumped on social media to mark their 17 years of being together.

According to Amara, their marriage has been a movie and she absolutely loves every moment she has spent with him.

He added that it still feels like yesterday when the ex-Arsenal player came to ask for her hand in marriage.

Her words, “He said, I have come to marry you. She’s like whaaaaat, why? pls don’t come near me. 17 years on! It’s been a movie since. @kingkanu4 I love you.”

Nwankwo Kanu OON (born 1 August 1976) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a forward. He was a member of the Nigerian national team. Kanu is a native of Abia State, southeast Nigeria, and a member of the Aro sub-group of the Igbo ethnic group. Nwankwo means “Child born on Nkwo market day” in the Igbo language.

Kanu played for Nigerian team Iwuanyanwu Nationale, Dutch side Ajax, Inter Milan of Italy, and English clubs Arsenal, West Bromwich Albion and Portsmouth.
