I Might Have To Close Down My Business Soon – Iyabo Ojo

Iyabo OjoNollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo is not happy with the alleged accrued personal income tax of N38 million slammed on her by the Lagos Inland Revenue Service.

The movie star recently jumped on Instagram account to speak up about the tax debt levied on her by the Lagos state tax agency.

In the lengthy post alongside a photo of the tax papers, Iyabo revealed that she is presently thinking about shutting down her Fespris chain of businesses.

Her words, “Well! it’s so sad that I may have to finally close down my business soon 😔….. because I don’t even know how or where to start this negotiation with Lagos State from, I’m still struggling with making profit, after paying rent, salaries, maintenance, electricity, local & state govt taxes in different categories & levy, I hardly make little or no profit …. My fellow Nigerians I have been asked to pay almost 38m for my Income tax to Lagos state😱 ALMOST 38M NAIRA ……… Personal income bawo? #Lagosstate how? 2014 – 2017 I was still struggling with my small business in Ikeja like I’m still even doing now or is it from my acting that we are poorly paid or from where now? pls can someone help me explain how they arrive @ this calculations, almost 38m naira, please you people should kuku sell me, my self & I 🤣 i dont even know where you want me to get this kind of money from ……. E ma gba mi ke @jidesanwoolu ni bo ni mo ti fe ri iru owo to po to yii? seriously I’m not understanding @ all o, I be single mother with plenty bukata oooo, I’m confused ……….. retiring looks like the next option o 🤷🏼‍♀ bcos doing business is very frustrating in Nigeria.”

Alice Iyabo Ojo (born 21 December 1977) is a Nigerian film actress, director, and producer. She has featured in over 150 films, and has produced over 14 of her own.

Iyabo Ojo was born as Alice Iyabo Ogunro on December 21, 1977 in Lagos, Nigeria, although her father was from, Ogun state Abeokuta. She was the youngest of three children, having two older brothers. She went to school in Lagos at National College, Gbagbada, before proceeding to study Estate Management at Lagos State Polytechnic.

Having been involved in a drama group at secondary school, Iyabo Ojo commenced her acting career in 1998. She registered with the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) through the help of Bimbo Akintola, she was also able to network to other people.

Ojo has scripted and featured in several Nigerian films. Her first role was in 1998’s Satanic, an English-language film. In 2002, she made her Yoruba-language debut with Baba Darijinwon.In January 2015, her film Silence, which features Joseph Benjamin Alex Usifo, Fathia Balogun, and Doris Simeon, premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas, Ikeja, in Lagos.
