I No Longer Watch Movies – Denzel Washington

Popular Oscar-winner Denzel Washington has said that he is tired of watching movies.

He recently revealed that he no longer watches movies because he has worked on too many films.

Speaking in a recent GQ video, Denzel shared that he does not even go to the cinema to see the latest movies showing, sharing that he’d rather do something else.

“I don’t watch movies, man. I really don’t. I’m just being honest with you! I don’t watch movies! I don’t go to the movies. I don’t watch movies…I’m tired of movies,” he said.

Asked if being an actor is the reason behind his inability to watch, he replied, “Probably,” stressing that he has been involved in “too many” projects.

Recall that Denzel once said that he doesn’t find acting awards important.

Disclosing that he did not become an actor to win the Oscars or any other award, he maintained that he is more focused on his legacy and what is next after life.

“I don’t do it for Oscars. I don’t care about that kind of stuff. I’ve been at this a long time, and there’s time when I won and shouldn’t have won and then didn’t win and should’ve won. Man gives the award. God gives the reward.

I’m not that interested in Oscars. People ask me, ‘Where do I keep it?’ Well, next to the other one. I’m not bragging! Just telling you how I feel about it. On my last day, [Oscars] aren’t going to do me a bit of good.

Figuring out what the future is. Been talking about retirement…I don’t know if that’s where God has been leading me, but it feels like He’s been telling me, ‘I got you where I want you.’” he added.
