Michael Jordan and Michael B. Jordan
Hollywood actor Michael B. Jordan has said that he almost changed his name. He recently had his say during an interview on CBS Sunday Morning, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, growing up with the same name as Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan was definitely a problem, and he actually thought about sticking to his middle name, Bakari, at some point.
Michael B. Jordan added that getting teased about it a lot made him strive to be competitive enough to create his own identity.
His words, “Big time! I got teased so much, to the point where I almost changed my name.
It definitely made me want to be competitive and be good at – I wanted to be great at something, if not for nothing else at that time just to, like, feel like I had my own identity.
Looking back, having the same name as the NBA Hall of Famer was a part of the alchemy that made me who I am today.
Bakari means “noble promise” in Swahili.
I feel like I’m walking in that and will continue to do so, big time. We got a lot more things to do, you know? We’re just getting started.”
WOW.
The cinema of the United States, consisting mainly of major film studios (also known metonymously as Hollywood) along with some independent films, has had a large effect on the global film industry since the early 20th century.
The dominant style of American cinema is classical Hollywood cinema, which developed from 1910 to 1962 and is still typical of most films made there to this day.
Hollywood is considered to be the oldest film industry, in the sense of being the place where the earliest film studios and production companies emerged. It is the birthplace of various genres of cinema —among them comedy, drama, action, the musical, romance, horror, science fiction, and the epic—and has set the example for other national film industries.
Many of Hollywood’s highest-grossing movies have generated more box-office revenue and ticket sales outside the United States than films made elsewhere. The United States is a leading pioneer in motion picture engineering and technology.
