Nasir El-Rufai Should Be Probed For Tapping Nuhu Ribadu’s Phone – Group

A coalition of Niger Delta groups has publicly called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to order an immediate investigation into former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai over alleged comments suggesting a breach of national security. The coalition recently revealed that El Rufai’s statement about an individual tapping the phone of Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, to enable him listen to private conversations was troubling.

According to the groups, such a statement is a direct assault on the integrity of Nigeria’s security architecture, and the alleged interception must be investigated thoroughly.

The coalition added that it would amount to a serious criminal offense under Nigerian law if El Rufai’s claim is true.
