Former LP presidential candidate Peter Obi has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over renewed attacks across parts of the country. He recently had his say via his social media page, and Nigerians have been reacting.

Recalling the President’s recent assurance that the violence in Jos would not recur, Obi noted that the resurgence of killings within days of Tinubu’s promise highlights a failure of leadership and responsibility.

He added that the government’s primary duty to protect lives and property is not being fulfilled.

His words, “Less than 24 hours after President Tinubu stood… and promised the grieving Nigerian citizens, ‘I promise you that this experience will not repeat itself,’ another brutal attack occurred.

This represents a failure of leadership and responsibility, and sadly, Nigerians are paying for it with their lives.

The primary responsibility of any government is to protect lives and property; however, this responsibility is failing today. Nigerians are being slaughtered in their homes, in their communities, and in the very places they should feel safest.

This is a national emergency. Nigeria is bleeding, and the situation is worsening and increasingly helpless.”

WOW.
