The Federal Government has said that Nigeria is ready for the establishment of State Police. Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, recently made the announcement in Abuja while receiving the Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC), led by its Chairman, Major General Chris Olukolade, in his office.

According to him, President Tinubu has urged the National Assembly to enact the legislation necessary for State Police because he is determined to implement the long-debated reform once the necessary legal framework is in place.

He added that decentralised policing has become compulsory to address Nigeria’s evolving and complex security challenges.

His words, “It is the desire of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that we have State Police as soon as it is practicable in this country. The time has indeed come for that.

In today’s digital age, crises are no longer only defined by events, but by how information spreads.”

WOW.
