The Federal Government of Nigeria plans to prioritize domestic resource mobilization and reduce reliance on external borrowing. Finance Minister Wale Edun recently revealed that the strategy is part of the FG’s ongoing fiscal reforms, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to him, he cannot overemphasize the shift toward strengthening internal revenue generation to support long-term economic sustainability.

He added by stressing that the government’s core plan focuses on enhancing tax collection and fiscal resilience amid global economic challenges.

His words, “The issue now is to focus on revenue, focus on domestic resource mobilization. We’re hoping to rely less on borrowing.

The combination of domestic resource mobilization and ongoing reforms underscores Nigeria’s effort to reduce debt dependence and strengthen its economic foundations.”

WOW.
