Peju Ogunmola Makes Heartfelt Return To Acting After Son’s Death

Nollywood veteran Peju Ogunmola has made an emotional return to acting, months after the tragic passing of her only son, Ayomikun.

In a heartfelt video posted on her Instagram page on Friday, the actress opened up about her healing journey, describing the past months as challenging and filled with grief. She, however, expressed deep appreciation to fans, friends, and colleagues whose love and prayers kept her strong.

“A new month, a new dawn. The past months have been heavy, but your love, prayers, and condolences have carried me through the storm. Today I rise, stronger, grateful, and ready to embrace my passion again. The screens have missed me… and I’m back, doing what I love most,” Ogunmola said.

Her son, Ayomikun, died in Ibadan in September after a brief illness. At the time, family representative Yemi Amodu confirmed his death and dispelled online rumours about the cause.

Ogunmola, a beloved figure in Yoruba cinema with a career spanning several decades, stepped away from public life following the loss.

Her comeback announcement has since drawn heartfelt reactions from colleagues and fans, who filled her comment section with words of encouragement and excitement over her return to the screen.
