Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has urged Nigerians to embrace unity and religious harmony as the 2026 Ramadan and Lenten seasons begin. He recently had his say via his goodwill message to Muslims and Christians marking the commencement of the fasting periods.

According to him, he can only encourage adherents of both faiths to use the sacred period to deepen their commitment to God and humanity.

Makinde concluded by commending Muslims and Christians in the state for sustaining peaceful coexistence and supporting his administration since 2019.

His words, “God Almighty is using the coincidence of the two fasting seasons to again teach adherents of both religions the need for love, unity, and religious harmony, and this lesson must not be lost throughout the period.

I want to urge you all to use the 2026 Ramadan and Lent fasting periods to further make supplication to God for the state and Nigeria, as well as for the leaders.”

WOW.
