Sola Allyson Opens Up on Living Separately From Husband and Her Struggles With Marriage Joy

Nigerian singer Sola Allyson has given a heartfelt account of her marital journey, revealing that although she is still legally married, she and her husband now maintain separate homes.

Speaking on the Oyinmomo Podcast, the soulful vocalist disclosed that marriage has been one of the toughest aspects of her life. She admitted that, despite what many people celebrate as marital bliss, she has never personally felt that sense of joy.

According to her, “I must confess that I am married, but my husband and I decided to live apart; he in his house and I in mine. Marriage has been a big challenge. I hear people talk about joy in marriage, but I have never experienced it.”

Allyson explained that she has put in her best efforts over the years, yet she still does not consider the relationship a successful one. Her honesty offered a rare glimpse into the emotional hurdles she has faced.

During the conversation, the singer also clarified a long-standing misconception about her craft. While many assume she is strictly a gospel artist, Allyson emphasized that her music is not defined by that label. “I am not a gospel singer. My name is Sola Allyson. Jesus does not need promotion, so I do not have to call His name in every song,” she stated.
