Ex-Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu, has debunked rumors that he said President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir el-Rufai are the ones are the main sponsors of bandits in the North.

Ribadu revealed that the statement being accredited to him on social media is a “devilish insinuation.”

According to him, the security agencies should investigate the source of the fake message and reveal the perpetrators of “the statement shared around social media platforms attributed to me (giving) devilish insinuations on alleged origin of banditry in parts of Nigeria.”

He added that he initially ignored it but he just could not take it anymore.

His words, “I ignored what was clear inanity and cheap blackmail, as I thought no right-thinking person will fall for such mischief. I have never, at any time, wrote or said those words being attributed to me.

“I have no knowledge contained in the disjointed propaganda message in circulation and I urge the public to disregard it.”
