The FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, has said that youth empowerment is the main pillar of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
She recently revealed that the present government recognize Nigerian youths as the driving force of the country’s future.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Orientation Course at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja, Mariya shared that Tinubu’s administration is ready to equip young Nigerians with the tools needed to excel in a competitive global economy.
According to him, the FG aims to keep empowering Nigerian youths as job creators rather than just job seekers, a thoughtful idea that will ultimately decrease unemployment across the nation.
“Through skills development, entrepreneurship support, digital innovation, and job creation initiatives, the government aims to equip Nigerian youths to thrive in a competitive global economy.
The goal is to empower young people as job creators rather than just job seekers, thereby reducing unemployment, fostering innovation, and strengthening socio-economic development,” she said.
The minister further assured that the FCT Administration, under the leadership of Nyesom Wike, will stay committed to supporting the NYSC’s objectives and guaranteeing an enabling environment for corps members to thrive.
Mariya concluded by commending the NYSC management for their determination to deliver a successful orientation course.
