Top 5 break up of 2012

2012 has had its own fair share of break ups in the music industry. This is to mention a few break up that shocked music lovers;

5. Eva Alordiah and Trybe records
Eva announced that she has quit Trybe records later this year. This was shocking due to the fact that she just joined the Label 5 months earlier. However, Trybe records Rep confirmed it and stated that the decision was mutual.

4. Mocheddah and Knigthouse
Mocheddah left Knigthouse early this year. It was rumored that she left due to her increasing greed which caused a breakdown in the financial agreement between the parties.

3. Olamide and Coded Tunes (I.D Cabassa)
After a fairly successful debut album Olamide decided to part ways with the veteran producer, but he unlike others that towed the same line (for example 9ice) he is doing well for himself and has a successful album and couple of hits to prove it.

2. May D and Square Records
Before he (May D) could release an album news went round that he has left Square records. This was a surprise because he just released the massive hit ‘ile ijo’ with a nice video on the label. After contemplating joining Chocolate City he decided to start is own record label Confam Entertainment.

1. D’banj and Don Jazzy
The almost inseperable duo shocked the Nigerian music world when Don Jazzy announced that the duo will be splitting. This brought about reaction from every angle musicians, bloggers and on air personality all airing their views on the split.
It was discovered that the two had different views on how to manage their breakthrough on the Kanye deal. D’banj was of the view that they (himself and Don Jazzy)should relocate to the US whilst Don Jazzy preferred to stay at home and work. This issue was not resolved and it led to their break up.
