Toyin Abraham Decries Rising Insecurity After Deadly Kwara, Kebbi Incidents

Nollywood star Toyin Abraham has once again spoken out on the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria, reacting to the recent terror attack in Kwara State and the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi State.

The country was thrown into mourning on Tuesday after armed men invaded a church programme in Eruku, Ekiti LGA of Kwara State, killing three people and whisking away several worshippers. The assault occurred barely a day after 25 secondary school girls were abducted in Kebbi State on Monday, November 17, 2025.

The tragic incidents have sparked widespread outrage, with many Nigerians—celebrities included—accusing President Bola Tinubu of failing to safeguard the lives of citizens.

Toyin Abraham, expressing her frustration on Instagram, shared how deeply the events have affected her and countless others. She questioned how families, especially mothers, were expected to cope in such dark times.

She wrote: “How do we move past the heaviness in our hearts after watching the heartbreaking video of the attack in Kwara? How does any mother close her eyes at night knowing that 25 young girls have been stolen from their families, girls who should be safe, laughing, learning, dreaming?”

According to her, mothers carry a unique burden of fear whenever news of violence emerges.
“As mothers, we carry a kind of fear that sits deep in our bones. When we hear of such violence, it is not just news to us, it is a wound.”

She condemned the rising wave of extremism, stressing how it is slowly dismantling the sense of peace communities once knew.
“Terrorism and religious extremism are tearing at the fabric of our communities, changing the way people live, love, pray, and hope. These fanatics and terrorists are not just attacking villages, they are attacking the very idea of safety, childhood, and peace.”

Closing her message, Abraham posed difficult questions that reflect the growing fear across the nation.
“So how do we confront a world where innocent souls are kidnapped and killed in the name of hatred? How do we protect our children when cruelty seems to move without fear or consequence?”

Her emotional appeal adds to mounting calls for the government to urgently tackle the worsening security situation and restore a sense of safety across Nigeria.
