Victoria ‘Chichi’ Okafor is crowned Face of NUBAA 2014. The 22-year-old from Imo state Nigerian beat several other hopefuls to become the Face of NUBAA 2014 at the annual NUBAA Awards, the award event which celebrates Nigerian UK based achievers, held at the grand Dream Centre, Tottenham London. The prestigious title will see the multi-talented young activist, TV presenter, model and budding author take on the role as global Ambassador for Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.

Dressed in a dark gold embellished gown, Chichi beamed with joy as she was announced as the winner by Tola Onigbanjo, CEO of Women for Africa. In her speech Chichi thanked God and her parents for getting her to where she is today.

“This is such a great opportunity to impact and reach out to the youth of Nigerians. I’m ready to start saying and doing the positive things required to motivate young Nigerians in believing they can make Nigeria a better place for them and the generations coming behind.”

Chichi celebrated her win flanked by runner up, Benita Brown. Speaking on her win, Franny Oprah, Director of Face of NUBAA, praised Chichi stating “her hard work in the community, leadership and compassion for youth work is what made Chichi stand out from all the other contestants. Work will now begin on several educational projects to ensure her reign as ambassador creates a positive impact in communities across the world.”

The application process for the 2015 Face of NUBAA will begin in Jan 2015. For more information on how to enter, visit www.nubaa.org.uk
