Nyesom Wike
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde. He recently declared that the Governor has entered a political battle he lacks the capacity to finish, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Speaking at the 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Wike mocked Makinde’s reliance on contracts and judicial orders, stressing that politics and Shell contracts are not the same thing.
Wike added that Makinde cannot accuse him of influencing the judiciary when he also secured a favourable court injunction in Ibadan.
His words, “It is unfortunate; a fight you cannot fight, you started. I didn’t want to be a contractor; I wanted to have power. You wanted money. You had a contract of over $1.7 million. Stay there as a contractor. Contract and politics are not the same thing. You can see the difference now.
After this NEC meeting, anybody that doesn’t show commitment to the convention, don’t come back and tell us that ‘oh, I’m fully back.’ No, I will not accept that.
Money is not everything in this world; money has limitations. Remove fear from your body. The moment you have fear, you have already failed. Believe that you have the capacity to do this and you can do it.”
WOW.
