17 years old, Malala Yousafzai win Nobel peace prize 2014

Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban in 2012 for advocating women’s rights to receive an education in her country, has just been announced as the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner. Malala won along with Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian children’s rights activist.

The two were named winner of the οΏ½690,000 (8m kronor or $1.11m) prize by the chairman of the Nobel committee – Norway’s former prime minister Thorbjoern Jagland this morning
