Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has come out to say that Nigerians displaced by the insurgency in the North-East from Cameroon are a priority for the Federal Government.

He recently had his say via a statement, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to him, the committee in charge of the situation must deal with the matter as an emergency because there is no time to get into too much bureaucracy.

Osinbajo added that while the committee will work with existing frameworks in the management of the issues, ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of displaced persons to their communities cannot be stopped.

His words, “We should immediately do whatever it takes to commence the process of repatriating our people back home. Already there are several initiatives. We need to deal with all of that working as quickly as possible to achieve the terms of reference and of course, ensure that all other initiatives continue to run in the way that they are designed to run.”
