The Federal Government has assured Nigerians that it is taking quick steps to secure the release of the abducted female students in Kebbi State. Recall that young girls were recently captured from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi.

In a press statement issued by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, the government declared that it is committed to ensuring the safe return of the schoolgirls.

According to him, FG shares in the pain of the affected families, and Tinubu is hell bent on protecting every Nigerian, especially school children, because it is his solemn responsibility.

Idris condemned the attack, stating that the unlawful murder of school officials who were doing their duties is the height of wickedness.

The Minister further disclosed that security and intelligence agencies have been ordered to immediately locate and rescue the abducted students.

He concluded by saying that those behind the attack will be made to face the full weight of the law once caught.

“The government would not relent until the girls are safely reunited with their families.

The Federal Government is intensifying efforts to strengthen internal security by upgrading military, policing, and intelligence capabilities to better prevent attacks and respond swiftly when threats emerge.

Nigeria is also boosting its collaborations with regional bodies, including ECOWAS, the African Union, and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), to secure borders and dismantle terrorist and criminal networks across West and Central Africa.

Nigerians should remain calm and confident because all security agencies are fully mobilised and working tirelessly to bring the situation under control,” it read.
