Bukola Arugba Slams Kwara First Lady Over Church Attack Statement, Reveals Family Among Kidnapped

Nigerian actress Bukola Arugba has publicly criticized Kwara State First Lady Olufolake Abdulrazaq for downplaying the recent violent attack on a church in the state.

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, gunmen targeted a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) branch in Eruku, Ekiti LGA, while a program was being livestreamed. The assault claimed three lives, and an unconfirmed number of worshippers, including the pastor, were abducted.

In a video shared on her Instagram account, Arugba challenged the First Lady’s description of the incident as merely an “attempted attack.” She emphasized that the violence was deadly and executed successfully, not a foiled attempt.

Arugba revealed that three of her relatives were among those kidnapped during the attack, expressing deep disappointment at the official statement which she said downplayed the tragedy. She called out the First Lady’s press release for contradicting the reality of the event, noting the pain it caused her and other affected families.

The actress’s statement underscores the frustration among residents and victims’ families over what they perceive as a minimization of the deadly incident by state authorities.
