I’ll Betray Nigerians If I Step Aside For Another Aspirant – Atiku

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has said that no aspirant will withdraw for another in the coalition. This comes amid calls by Obidients that presidential aspirants in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) should step down for Peter Obi.

Totally rejecting any suggestion that he should step aside, Atiku described such calls as dangerous to Nigeria’s democracy, stressing that the party is committed to a transparent and competitive primaries process.

Atiku added that any call for him to step aside is a total betrayal of the Nigerian people.

His words, “Any call — overt or covert — for Atiku to ‘step aside’ is a gift to authoritarian ambition and a betrayal of the Nigerian people.

For nearly three years, Nigerians have endured one of the harshest periods in recent history — an era defined by punishing economic policies and shrinking democratic space.

Let it be stated plainly: the ADC is on a national rescue mission. The party is committed to an open, transparent, and competitive process.”

WOW.
