Democracy Has Failed Under APC – Atiku

Former Vice President and presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has said that the goals behind the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2014 have not been achieved. He recently had his say while speaking at a press conference in Abuja, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to him, APC was established to address perceived weaknesses in Nigeria’s democracy, but the nation’s challenges have worsened since the party’s formation.

Atiku added that the problems that existed at the time of the APC’s founding have intensified.

His words, “We did this exercise in 2014, not so? We came together and formed APC because we felt democracy was faltering, only for us to end up at the same position we found ourselves in 2014, worse.

In 2014, the major challenges were insecurity, the economy and so on. Now it is even worse than what we fought against.

We must have that in mind. We must succeed to make sure that we restore true democracy to our country.”
