All Progressives Congress (APC)
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged opposition parties to focus on rebuilding, strategizing and preparing for the 2031 elections. Lagos APC Spokesman, Seye Oladejo, recently had his say via a press statement addressing recent political discourse and activities by opposition parties within Nigeria.
According to him, rather than challenge settled 2027 mandates through petty distractions or unproductive rhetoric, opposition groups should engage constructively while acknowledging electoral outcomes and political realities.
Criticizing the lack of preparation and cohesion among opposition groups, he stressed that last-minute alliance-building ahead of party primaries reflects disorganization.
His words, “While opposition parties play an important role in strengthening democratic governance, such participation must be grounded in realism, responsibility, and respect for the mandate freely given by the people. The outcome of recent elections reflects the confidence of Nigerians in the leadership, vision, and developmental trajectory set forth by the APC.
Rather than dissipating energy contesting settled mandates, we strongly advise opposition elements to focus on rebuilding, re-strategizing, and preparing meaningfully for the 2031 elections.
The road to 2031 offers ample time for reflection, internal reforms, and the development of credible alternatives. Until then, Lagosians expect all political actors to contribute positively to the peace, stability, and progress of our state.”
