Nollywood actress Faithia Williams has put an end to her long-standing rift with Funke Akindele, marking a positive new chapter between the two stars after months of tension.
Their conflict dates back to last year when Faithia accused Funke of blocking her on Instagram following her open support for Mercy Aigbe and her movie project. At the time, Faithia addressed the issue publicly, stating that Funke “wasn’t her God” and expressing that she refused to be affected by what she saw as unnecessary drama.
However, the mood appears to have shifted completely. Faithia recently took to Instagram to share a video of a thoughtful package sent to her by Funke—an invitation to the premiere of her new film. Displaying the gift with excitement, Faithia applauded Funke’s work ethic and consistency, writing:
“December is here again, and you know what that means!
Behind the Scenes by Funkejenifaakindele is premiering on December 7th, 2025.
Catch it at the cinemas starting from December 12th! You already know it’s gonna be a blockbuster.
Funkejenifaakindele never disappoints! Get ready to be thrilled!”
The reunion was warmly welcomed by fans. One supporter, sherifah.xx, commented, “Good to see them back. Love you mamas.” Another follower added, “Good to see them back,” while Emmanuel_gbenguse chimed in with, “This is awesome.”
The rekindled friendship comes after a series of past controversies surrounding Funke and other industry colleagues. In April, actor Ijoba Lande claimed he worked on one of her productions at Amen Estate for a month and received only N90,000. He later issued an apology, admitting his earlier video was misinterpreted and clarifying that Funke paid him more before he left the location.
There was also a 2023 viral report alleging that Funke pressured Mo Abudu to remove Toyin Abraham from Chief Daddy and replace her with Kate Henshaw. The same report claimed a similar situation nearly happened with Beverly Osu until Joke Silva intervened.
Faithia herself had faced scrutiny earlier this year after an event where she and Mercy Aigbe appeared to snub each other. A clip from the gathering showed Faithia giving Mercy a stern look, while Mercy acted unbothered and avoided acknowledging her.
This is not the first time Faithia has been involved in a public dispute. In 2020, a bitter clash with Iyabo Ojo erupted when Iyabo accused her of leaking details about a medical scare.
During Faithia’s 51st birthday, Iyabo went as far as calling her a “witch.” By January 2022, however, both actresses settled their differences with help from Mr Latin and MC Oluomo. They shared affectionate posts afterward, though they admitted they still weren’t following each other on Instagram.
Now that Faithia and Funke have reconnected, many fans are hopeful that this renewed relationship signals calmer days ahead within Nollywood’s often fiery environment.
