The Pope has come out to condemn the treatment of migrants in Europe.

He recently had his say while speaking on the Greek island of Lesbos, where he met dozens of migrants, and the world has been reacting.

According to him, the neglect of migrants is clearly the shipwreck of civilisation and the focus should be on the causes of migration.

He added that those building walls to keep people out is very wrong and history teaches us that narrow self-interest and nationalism lead to disastrous consequences.

His words, “In Europe there are those who persist in treating the problem as a matter that does not concern them – this is tragic.”
