His words, “When OBJ Kissed CharlyBoy

Lately, I don find myself falling for Baba,His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
No be play Baba na man of many parts

E be like say our relationship don shift enter another level o…
The kind level wey dey warm my heart and dey always make Baba smile anytime him sight me.
Sometimes I even dey feel say my late papa, wey be Baba old friend, still dey whisper to me through am. If I try explain am well, e fit sound somehow… but deep down, the feeling real.
Today I attend Baba birthday celebration.

Tables full. People dey laugh. Big men and women dey greet themselves. Correct food dey flow. The whole hall dey bubble with life.
Then Baba enter.

As Chief Olusegun Obasanjo step inside, the whole atmosphere change. Respect rise for the room. People stand. Glasses lift. Smiles everywhere. The man wey history don write plenty chapters about go sit for the high table like the true elder wey him be.

Then my own moment show face.

I carry my birthday gift. But I no carry am normal way. I balance am for my head gidigba! Village boy style.
Step by step I waka go the high table.
No hurry.
Just respect.
Rhythm.
And small drama… the way CharlyBoy sabi.
When I reach Baba, I present the gift.

Simple moment… but the love, warmth and joy inside am heavy.
Next thing wey happen shock even me.
Baba plant correct kiss for my gorimakpa.
The hall burst laugh.

Because sometimes celebration no really be about cake, champagne or long grammar speeches.
Sometimes… na about honour.
Honour for a life wey don see storms, battles and history yet still stand strong like iroko tree.
And today… Abeokuta witness am.”

WOW.
