The widow of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has issued a statement addressing the ongoing legal dispute over the paternity of her son, Liam.

Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has repeatedly insisted that a DNA test be conducted to confirm whether Liam is the biological child of the late artiste.

He recently approached the court seeking an order to compel Wunmi, Mohbad’s widow, to present the child for testing.

Speculation and public pressure have surrounded the matter for months, with many accusing Wunmi of avoiding the paternity verification process.

In a statement shared on her Instagram page and signed by her legal team, Wunmi countered the allegations, asserting that her father-in-law has been “shifting the goalpost” and causing delays.

She revealed that during Wednesday’s court session, her father-in-law filed an application requesting that the DNA test be conducted in two hospitals of his personal choice. Wunmi noted that the judge struck out the application, ruling that the test must be carried out in neutral medical facilities where neither party has a vested interest.

The statement underscores Wunmi’s willingness to comply with the court’s directive, emphasizing that the process must follow proper legal procedure and ensure fairness.

Mohbad, who passed away in September 2023, continues to be at the center of family and public controversies, with the paternity verification issue remaining one of the most debated topics surrounding the late singer’s legacy.
