My Wife Is Also My Side Chick – Keppy Ekpenyong-Bassey

Popular Nollywood actor, Keppy Ekpenyong-Bassey has come out to claim that despite their daily disputes, his wife, Nyong Bassey Inyang is still his dearest companion.

He recently had his say during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, even if he occasionally gets tired of arguing with with wife, the fact remains that their humorous relationship has strengthened their union.

Keppy added that his wife is his girlfriend, side chick, mistress and best friend all at the same time.

His words, “She is my girlfriend, side chick, mistress, best friend and wife. And we must quarrel every day. I will be like, ‘Wettin dey worry you? You no dey tire?”

Charles Igwe noted that Norimitsu Onishi also used the name in a September 2002 article he wrote for the New York Times. The term continues to be used in the media to refer to the Nigerian film industry, with its definition later assumed to be a portmanteau of the words “Nigeria” and “Hollywood”, the American major film hub.

Film-making in Nigeria is divided largely along regional, and marginally ethnic and religious lines. Thus, there are distinct film industries – each seeking to portray the concern of the particular section and ethnicity it represents. However, there is the English-language film industry which is a melting pot for filmmaking and filmmakers from most of the regional industries.
