Ned Nwoko Insists Therapy, Not Reconciliation, Is His Only Demand

 

Senator Ned Nwoko has issued a fresh clarification regarding his troubled marriage to his estranged wife, actress and filmmaker Regina Daniels, following a series of allegations that have dominated social media in recent weeks.

Reports suggested that the couple’s conflict escalated in October, with accusations ranging from domestic abuse to drug involvement. Regina later claimed that despite expressing her desire to leave the marriage, the senator continued contacting her. She also accused him of attempting to damage her reputation in order to win custody of their children, threatening to expose what she described as his “illicit activities.”

But in a statement released via his Facebook page on Tuesday, Nwoko refuted her claims, insisting their last communication occurred on 17 October.

According to his communication team, the lawmaker is not seeking to reconcile or bring Regina back home, stressing that his only concern is her well-being.

“Senator Ned Nwoko is not chatting with Regina and does not want her back in the house. All he is insisting on is that she should be encouraged to go to therapy,” the team stated.

They alleged that Regina had been battling substance-related issues and that her public accusations were influenced by this.

“It is important to state that Regina continues to be completely under the influence of hard drugs, and whatever she says is a lie from the pit of hell,” the statement added.

The team shared what they said was the last WhatsApp message Nwoko sent, which carried an ultimatum for her to continue therapy or face the withdrawal of financial support. They claimed that after receiving the message, Regina became violent, damaging cars and property.

The statement continued with further allegations:

“She began to lie about everything. She became dirty. Her environment became dirty. He had to encourage her to shower… Within the last eight months, Regina became something else. Then came Phyna with her friends. He tolerated them only because he was trying to manage Regina’s situation.”

They also recounted an incident where Regina allegedly filmed him in the bathroom around 5 a.m. and later posted the footage online, describing the act as irrational behavior.

“If anyone around her claims to love her and care for the kids, they should take her to a respected rehab centre, and all this nonsense will stop.”

His team maintained that Nwoko’s priority has always been ensuring Regina is alive and healthy for the sake of their two young sons, adding that the truth would eventually become evident.

They further accused her of relapsing during a birthday celebration, allegedly renting out a full floor at a Wuse 2 hotel for several days of drug use and chaotic incidents involving the police and other guests.

The final WhatsApp message attributed to Senator Nwoko read:

“I won’t accept your friends coming here at odd hours again… You have shown so much disrespect in the past few days… This lifestyle is totally unacceptable, and we can’t continue like this… It is either you continue with your therapy or you check into the rehab in Asokoro… My health is deteriorating because of your situation.”

According to the team, that message sent on 17 October marked the last documented contact between the estranged couple.
