Nollywood star Regina Daniels has issued a fiery response to Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) President Emeka Rollas after he publicly insinuated that she “needs help” due to supposed issues in her marriage.
Rollas had reportedly urged fellow actors to speak up about what he described as Daniels’ unpredictable conduct, referencing two separate episodes and naming colleagues who were allegedly present.
Reacting via Instagram, Daniels accused the AGN president of weaponizing his authority and putting personal agendas above the welfare of those he leads. She implied that his remarks might stem from resentment after she allegedly stopped him from bringing women to her residence for swimming sessions.
Directly addressing him, she wrote: “AGN president, respectfully, there is something very wrong with you. To suggest that I need help? You have no right to speak nonsense about my family, especially my mother, who has always supported you… Eight years in office and the only thing of note is the recent opening of your office — long overdue and heavily criticized.”
Daniels added that Rollas’ attack appeared motivated by bitterness, saying his grievances had nothing to do with the industry: “Your comments seem fueled by bitterness after I refused to allow you to bring women into my home… I have given you respect and opportunities, yet this is your response.”
She also highlighted her mother’s longstanding efforts in Nollywood, noting that she is well-qualified to represent actors and push for meaningful change. According to Daniels, the sector desperately needs competent, forward-thinking female leadership supported by credible advisers.
Her strongly worded statement has revived conversations about accountability, professional conduct, and transparent leadership within the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
