Nigerian vocalist Aituaje Iruobe, widely known as Waje, has announced that she is engaged.

The 45-year-old singer confirmed the news in a recent chat with Hip TV in Lagos, where she simply stated, “I am actually engaged,” without offering any further details about the man in her life.

Although she has chosen to keep her partner out of the public eye, Waje previously mentioned in another interview that she would not consider marrying someone who isn’t already established. According to her, age is a major factor, and she no longer has the patience to wait for someone still trying to find their footing.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, Waje also reflected on her earlier years as a teenage mother. She recalled that her child’s father initially rejected the pregnancy and walked away. Even when he returned to apologise later, she said he still refused to take responsibility. “I obliged to his demand for a DNA test, which he never showed up for,” she recounted, noting the emotional toll the situation had on her.

Despite these past difficulties, Waje continues to excel in her music journey while keeping her personal relationships carefully guarded.
