An ex-Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has come out to condemn the suspension of ChannelsTv by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, over the invitation of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful.

Femi Fani-Kayode recently revealed that such action will definitely be seen as Nigeria gagging the press.

According to him, Channels TV interviewed the spokesman of IPOB, Mr Emma Powerful to answer some really vital question about the attack on the home of the Governor of Imo state, so they did no wrong.

He added that censorship of the media is unacceptable in a democracy, so it must be discouraged.

His words, β€œIt is wrong for NBC to sanction @channelstv simply because they allowed the spokesman of IPOB, Mr Emma Powerful, to answer some pertinent and vital questions about the attack on the home of the Governor of Imo state. Censorship of the media is unacceptable in a democracy.”
