The Intervention of The Nigerian Senate in the arrest of Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the chairman of Innoson Motors by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, December 19 at his Enugu residence has paid of as it led to the release of the business tycoon.
Chief Innocent Chukwuma was released by the EFCC after the Senate committee on anti-corruption and financial crimes called the acting chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.
This was revealed at the Senate plenary today, Thursday, December 21 by the chairman of the committee, Senator Chukwuka Utazi (PDP, Enugu).
Senator Utazi, disclosed that his committee spoke to Magu and his team at the EFCC, which prompted the release of Chukwuma. He also revealed that the famous manufacturer called afterwards to thank the Senate for its intervention in the case.
