President Goodluck Jonathan has said his government is set to use improved technology to fight corruption in the country.

The President was speaking yesterday, at the campaign rally at the Nnamdi Azikwe stadium in Enugu.

He said, the best way to fight corruption is through improved technology and not by jailing people for 300 years, as being planned by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, General Muhammadu Buhari.

�The best way to fight corruption is through technology. You must deny Nigerian officials access to funds. We’ve ended corruption in fertilizer distribution. We’ll end corruption systematically, not by arresting people, showing them on screen and jailing them. You threw people into Kirikiri, went to sleep and the economy collapsed, you’re thrown out and you’re back to tell Nigerians the same thing.

�With technology, you can track down criminals. I am not going to run Nigeria on my heartbeat but according to international best practices. I will continue to run this country based on the rule of law,’’ the president said.
