The Christian Association of Nigeria has come out to react to the 66 worshipers who were abducted by gunmen in Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kakau Daji, Kakau, in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Vice President of CAN in the 19 Northern states and Abuja, Rev. John Hayab recently had his say to the press.

According to him, the abduction is indeed a sad news, especially because among those abducted were children, nursing mothers, pregnant women, aged people and young adults, both male and female.

He added that the challenge of insecurity in Kaduna must be eradicated, else, the church would always be a victim.

His words, “We received the sad news of the abduction of 66 members from Emmanuel Baptist Church.”

“The incident happened around 10am during worship service on Sunday October 31.”

“During the deadly attack, one person was killed while another person injured is receiving treatment in hospital.”

“Among the people abducted were children, nursing mothers, pregnant women, aged people and young adults both male and female.”

“The challenge of insecurity in Kaduna has not improved and the church has always been a victim. The government in Kaduna State seems to lack the capacity to handle the situation.”

“CAN is appealing to the Federal Government to act fast before the insecurity challenge in Kaduna State will plunge the whole nation into a bigger problem.”
