Nollywood actress Sola Kosoko Abina has shed light on the demanding reality of pursuing a thriving acting career while attempting to run personal businesses.
In a recent interview, the movie star explained that the intensity of her work leaves very little room for managing business ventures effectively. She noted that acting often requires full attention, long shooting hours, and constant availability, which can hinder the smooth running of side enterprises.
“Acting doesn’t leave much room for other ventures,” she said, recalling her experience with a boutique where she sold clothes, bags, and jewellery. The business struggled because her filming schedule made it difficult to monitor operations consistently. According to her, “the only way to make it work is to have a competent and trustworthy person to manage the business while you are on set.”
On maintaining balance between her career and family life, Kosoko credited her husband’s unwavering support. She explained that having a partner who understands the demands of the entertainment industry makes a significant difference. “If you have an understanding husband who appreciates your profession, it becomes much easier,” she said, adding that he has supported her from the early days, long before she became widely recognized.
