Spike Lee finally earned himself the right to own an Oscar Award but the twist in his acceptance speech was when he talked about how Americans should “do the right thing” in 2020.
He won the remarkable “Best Adapted Screenplay.” award for his movie “BlacKkKlansman,” and it was a night to remember because the Hollywood legend has been shunned by the organisers for a very long time.
His speech was passionate and it revisited the history of African-American that dates back to 1619, when slavery was the in thing. Lee’s thoughts went far and wide a he moved from one subject to another.
He appreciated his family and then spoke on the presidential election that was set to happen next year.
His words, “Let’s all mobilize, let’s all be on the right side of history. Make the moral choice between love versus hate. LET’S DO THE RIGHT THING!!!”
