Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweight Wizkid has seemingly taken a jab at Davido after his album Morayo emerged as Apple Music’s most-streamed project of 2025 in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The chart update places Morayo at number one, followed closely by Davido’s 5ive in second place. The result immediately triggered online buzz, particularly because Davido had previously boasted that his album would surpass every other release in its category—comments many interpreted as a subtle dig at Wizkid.

Davido had confidently stated in Pidgin: “Album go swallow album,” suggesting that 5ive would overshadow competing bodies of work.

However, after the new Apple Music rankings surfaced, Wizkid appeared to respond with a pointed remark on social media. He posted:
“Dem say album go swallow album dem dey ground dey smell now!”

His message quickly fueled discussions among fans, with some fearing the exchange could reignite the pair’s long-running online rivalry.
