Former Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has opened up about why she was unable to join the 2025 edition of Big Brother Naija, despite previously hinting at her desire to compete.
Adetshina had expressed interest in joining the reality show back in August 2024, but the season eventually wrapped up in October with Imisi emerging as the winner, going home with an N80 million cash prize and a new SUV.
In a video posted on her X page, the model and beauty queen revealed that her decision not to participate was influenced by professional advice.
According to her, “I also want to do Big Brother next year. I wanted to do it this year, but my manager said I couldn’t because I’m still Miss Universe Nigeria.”
She also reflected on her experience during her time in Nigeria, describing it as impactful and full of possibility.
“I really enjoyed my stay in Nigeria, and even now, like I said, once I get my documents sorted, I am going back. Nigeria was really great for me,” she said.
Adetshina added that the time she spent in the country broadened her perspective. “The eight months I spent there were amazing. I feel there is more to explore; there are so many opportunities in Nigeria.”
Back in November 2024, she had announced that she would be stepping back from pageantry to focus on her academics, modeling, and acting. Her intention to enter BBNaija in 2026 appears to align with her long-term career plans.
