Protesters Storm National Assembly Complex Over Electronic Transmission Of Results

Protesters have gathered at the entrance of the National Assembly complex in Abuja. The concerned Nigerians are insisting on the inclusion of real-time electronic transmission in the electoral amendment bill.

The demonstrators, under the banner of “Occupy National Assembly,” said that the Senate must be explicit in its provision for electronic transmission of election results, despite recent clarifications by the upper chamber denying that it rejected the move.

Recall that human rights activist Omoyele Sowore recently announced that the National Opposition Movement would stage a demonstration against what he described as the “removal of electronic transmission of election results.”
